Research Areas: His studies are continuing on the evaluation of the efficacy of laparoscopic cholecystectomy in geriatric patients, the factors affecting pancreatic fistulas developing after pancreaticoduodenectomy and the role of albumin/globulin ratio in predicting the development of postoperative pancreatic fistula, treatment approaches in patients with granulomatous mastitis, comparison of hernia sac ligation and invagination in indirect inguinal hernias. His other current study and research topics include the effects of the restrictions and closure applied in the COVID-19 pandemic on emergency general surgery consultations and surgeries, the timing of elective surgery in patients with COVID-19, and the determination of treatment algorithms for surgical patients in case of epidemics.
Selected Studies: He wrote his specialty thesis in medicine on “Use of synthetic composite graft in ventral hernia repair in contaminated environment” (2015). The role of ultrasonography in identifying the non-recurrent laryngeal nerve (2012), Comparison of early and late complications of open and laparoscopic appendectomies (2013), Prospective comparison and cost analysis of early and late cholecystectomies in acute cholecystitis (2014), Experimental evaluation of the feasibility of using synthetic mesh in the presence of abdominal infection (2018), Diagnostic value of complete blood count parameters in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis (2020), Comparison of elective and emergency colorectal cancer surgeries (2021), International multicentric observational study on “Surgery timing after SARS-Cov-2 infection” (2021), International multicentric observational study on “Global variations in mortality and complications after cancer surgery” (2021) are some of the articles he is the author and co-author of.
